A few patterns jump out:
- Night careers pay the most at the top. Music (₦99,000) and DJ (₦93,000) shifts start in the evening and include Sunday. They suit players who log in after work in real life.
- Professional careers start high but need a skill first. Medicine, Product Management, Aviation, Oil & Gas, Real Estate, Broadcasting and Civil Service all start between ₦17,000 and ₦21,000, but you need level 3 in their key skill to apply.
- Banking is the best no-requirement start at ₦11,600 a shift, Monday to Friday from 8am.
Shifts: when and how long
Each career has fixed workdays and a start hour. You do not need to walk to the office: when your shift is due, tap Go to work and the game takes you there. While at work your Oga gives small tasks; saying yes and winning them pushes performance up faster. Leaving early is allowed but costs performance.
Pay arrives when the shift ends. Remember your needs keep draining at work, so eat, bath and use the toilet before you go.
How promotions work
Promotions have two layers: grades inside a rank and the jump to the next rank (new job title, much bigger pay).
- Fill your performance bar to 100 by working shifts and winning tasks.
- Work enough shifts at your current grade.
- After three grades, the rank jump also checks your career skill, your Lagos Rep and your days in the rank:
| Moving up from | Shifts per grade | Skill level | Lagos Rep | Days in rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rank 1 → 2 | 1 | 1 | — | — |
| Rank 2 → 3 | 2 | 3 | 3 | — |
| Rank 3 → 4 | 2 | 5 | 6 | 14 |
| Rank 4 → 5 | 3 | 7 | 10 | 21 |
- The final step to the top rank is a board interview. You choose how to answer: show your results (career skill), charm the room (Charisma) or tell your Lagos story (Lagos Rep). Lean on whichever is highest. If it goes badly the board sees you again in three days.
After a rank promotion performance resets to 45 and you get three blessings to spend on perks.
The skill-gated professional careers (Medicine, Product Management and so on) use stricter skill checks: 4, 5, 7 and 9 instead of 1, 3, 5 and 7. The Abuja civil service uses 3, 5, 7 and 9; the airport and refinery use 2, 4, 6 and 8.
Train the right skill
Every career is tied to one skill. Training it does two jobs: it unlocks promotions and it raises gig pay that uses the same skill. The fastest trainers for each skill are on the skills page, but the short list:
- Coding: Weekend Hackathon at CcHub (×2.0), Hack on Side Project (×1.6).
- Charisma: Practice Speech at home with a mirror, Spoken Word at Freedom Park, Practise Presenting at Naija Radio House.
- Fitness: Session with a Coach at i-Fitness (×3.0), Lift Weights (×2.0).
- Hustle: Buy & Resell at Balogun (×1.5), Network with Big Men at Quilox.
The right traits multiply this, and LAPO Babies learn 25% faster on top. See the skills levelling guide.
Degrees and short courses
UNILAG offers two kinds of education:
Degrees take four or five years of in-game sessions and lead straight into specific careers. Your final class adds pay to every shift:
| Degree class | Pay bonus on every shift |
|---|---|
| 🥇 First Class Honours | +20% |
| 🥈 Second Class Upper (2:1) | +12% |
| 🥉 Second Class Lower (2:2) | +6% |

Graduating with a First or 2:1 also lets you skip the lowest rank and start as a graduate trainee.

Which career should you pick?
- Fresh account, no skills: Banking. Switch to Product Management once Coding hits 3.
- Night owl: Music or DJ, especially with the Musical trait.
- Fitness grinder: go to the gym for three days, then Medicine at ₦21,000 a shift.
- Abuja or PH player: Abuja Civil Service (needs Charisma 2 or Coding 2) and Port Harcourt Oil & Gas (Fitness 3 or Coding 3) are the best-paying local jobs.
Then put your spare hours into gigs and your spare money into businesses.
